Investing in skills

We invest hundreds of thousands of pounds each year in the training of our people because it is through their skills that we can deliver a top quality performance for our clients. We even have our own dedicated training centre in Basingstoke.

One way to illustrate the quality of our people is through the Construction Manager of the Year awards,  where Willmott Dixon tops the gold medal list over the past five years.

Our investment in skills starts at an early stage and we currently have 160 trainee managers studying various construction and project management-related degrees. Each year we celebrate these management trainees in the unique 'Trainee of the Year' event, where a short list of 10 trainees is whittled down to our annual winner.

Willmott Dixon Group Chief Executive Rick Willmott, "Trainee of the Year" Martin Stewart, Partnerships MD Mick Williamson and Chief HR Officer Rick Lee with our 160 trainee managers.

We also believe trade skills are the life blood for our industry. We invest a considerable amount of time helping young people learn and develop life long skills in areas such as plumbing, joinery, bricklaying and carpentry.
