Willmott Dixon Housing has delivered over 35,000 new homes in the last 35 years and builds about 1,600 each year, all meeting and exceeding EcoHomes and Code for Sustainable Homes requirements.
Clients range from registered social landlords and the Key London Alliance to private sector developers and sister companies like Willmott Dixon Homes. Most work is carried out through long-term frameworks (over 35) with a team that know house building very well.
Specific areas of work:
- Care homes – Housing has a specialist team that knows about providing homes for the specialist care of elderly and vulnerable people.
- General needs accommodation - from apartment blocks to 3-4 bedroom housing, including homes available for affordable rent, shared ownership and outright ownership.
- Key-worker living - providing homes for key workers such as hospital staff, often as part of PFI arrangements with RSL-led consortia
- Private housing - for residential developers and sister company Willmott Dixon Homes
- Regeneration of urban estates - multi-phase regeneration of estates over 5-10 years replacing old accommodation with 200-2000 homes
- Retirement villages - large villages with community facilities for active older people to enjoy their retirement, such as the £70 million Denham Garden Village
- Student accommodation – utilizing modern methods of construction to create living space for higher education students.
Thanks to its in-house innovation, sustainability and community team, WD Housing has also been at the forefront of new building and sustainable techniques. Examples include Thinkspace, the UK first software system for building regulation compliance, bathroom pods to improve productivity, and solar paneling when possible on new housing.
