Willmott Dixon Construction is one of the industry’s most recognizable brands for major construction projects across England and Wales. It carries out capital projects from £1 million to over £100 million for clients across all sectors.
It operates from Local Construction Offices (LCO) across the country, giving it a local presence where clients are on first name terms with their LCO’s MD. The close contact with senior management ensures clients know their project is very important to us, and not ‘lost’ in a huge organization where contact is limited to a regional manager.
Construction sectors include:
- Commercial - undertaking high quality office developments, mainly in urban locations, and improving their energy performance. This can be one-off developments or part of wider regeneration that involves other parts of Willmott Dixon Group.
- Education - from primary, secondary schools and academies through to higher and further education. Schools like Kingsmead, Castle Rock and City of London Academy are credited with setting new benchmarks for the design and delivery of places to learn. Willmott Dixon has also built the school with the UK’s highest BREEAM rating, Rogiet Primary School in Wales, with 78 per cent.
- Health – building for PCTs, LIFT consortia, NHS Trusts and private sector operators, the company’s experience includes creating Europe’s largest ‘all in one’ community healthcare facility in Hounslow and the renown low carbon Community Healthcare Campus at BRE in Watford.
- Hotels - building for operators directly or for investors on behalf of franchises. The specialist hotel team’s service includes helping to bring finance to projects through third party investors and building hotels as part of wider developments it carries out, such as an Express by Holiday Inn hotel at Epsom Racecourse.
- Law & Order - including courts, prisons and the ‘blue light’ sector such as police and fire stations, the company has teams with specialist knowledge of working in high security environments. This includes extending Category A and B prisons such as HMP Nottingham and HMP Swaleside, as well as award-winning court houses such as in Loughborough and new area headquarters such as in Hatfield.
- Low carbon - using Re-Thinking to work with clients to reduce the carbon emissions on their existing property estate and make more energy efficient. As well as cutting running costs and meeting potential tough new targets, it helps improve clients’ liabilities under the Carbon Reduction Commitment.
- Leisure & Fitness – from creating a one-off facility to several for one developer, the company has detailed knowledge of building for the leisure industry to maximize the growing interest in health and fitness. It has also built 100m swimming pool in last ten years, including two 50m pools that will be 2012 Olympic training venues.
- PPP/PFI, working with sister company WD Investments on bidding opportunities that will be built by Construction. It also works within other consortia like with Kent and Hackney BSFs.
