We recognise that our business is all about people - clients, staff, suppliers, communities.  We aim to build long-term loyalty, have staff that are challenged but contented and make our supply chain a reflection of the company.

We also believe that we have a key role to play in the communities in which we operate.  We know that for many communities, poor cohesion, a lack of employment opportunities and low aspirations of many young people are key issues.  We aim to make a difference - by providing employment, work experience, placements and apprenticeships, and by ensuring that we procure goods and services locally wherever possible.

Our milestone target is:  To enhance the life prospects of 3,000 young people by 2015.

Supply Chain

The social and environmental impact of our supply chain is large since we spend about 70% of our turnover with them. They govern the services we supply and the buildings we construct. Our policy ensures we work in partnership with them, engage them on fair terms and conditions and work in mutually beneficial teams.


We improve the lives of people where we work by starting and supporting educational, environmental, social and economic projects. We train people up and offer them apprenticeships. And our people volunteer for community projects, raise money for charity and donate money to local causes.
